Absolutely unhinged family Suletta has there. "Hi, this is me and my wife, a girlboss CEO who used to be the president of the largest corporate conglomerate in history until she willingly sabotaged it for anticapitalist reasons, and that's her dad who's on trial for war crimes that we don't really talk to much anymore, and also my mom was a terrorist called Lady Prospera who mysteriously disappeared one day, and this nice lady who I also call mom is Elnora Samaya and don't look into her background too much, and my sister is this keychain that used to be a Gundam."

The amount of fan art this one scene has helped inspire is my second favorite thing to come out of G-witch
My favorite is all of the incredibly cute and romantic art of Miorine helping Suletta heal and all the mobility aids Suletta has been using while Miorine dotes on her
If you haven't heard, Kadokawa has decided that they did not in fact want to allow the gay marriage in Witch From Mercury to happen under their watch and censored an interview referencing that Suletta and Miorine were married. I'm sorry conservative execs, the cat is out of the bag. The show you helped fund has the most gay fan art per capita of any Gundam show, the people you contracted to make the show made the most married ending they could manage for it with the gayest expressions and poses possible for your leads. You have the cast pointing out the symbolism of the wheat field Suletta is playing with children in (heavily implying they are her and Miorine's kids)
With all of that you decided to walk this back
I feel terrible for the artists working on this show and everyone who pushed it to be what it is. They deserve to be celebrated for what they made (schedule issues not withstanding). Instead they have some execs spitting on all of it because of some marketing demographic or other corporate bullshit
Beyond working conditions improving and people being paid closer to what they are worth, this is also why the SAG-AFTRA and Writer's Guild strikes are important. Corporate control means more bullshit like what is happening to Gundam. People who couldn't give a shit about storytelling or making something for people, in charge of what is allowed to be in art.
If you want more art, better art, human art, you want UBI. You want people to be free to make things without some jackass holding the purse strings saying your couple being married isn't good for marketing to X country or Y demographic
If you want experimental work to be able to have a budget, you want UBI. All artists are stuck catering to the people who have the money without it. Things don't have to be this bad, but it will take work
