I'm a bit of a game deal hoarder (although I've gotten much better about it, partially by necessity), and sometimes I have extra game keys I just don't know what to do with (duplicates, games I'm almost definitely never going to play, etc). I was on a forum and tried to give a bunch away during a holiday season, and because I wanted people to pick a few, I didn't pick the option to limit it to 1 entry only. I foolishly thought people would pick a few that looked interesting. Of course a few people went through the entire list and entered for everything, even stuff they clearly weren't going to care about, and because it was a timed giveaway with just a few entries, they were walking away with 20, 30+ keys in some cases.
Back on Elon's Blog, when it used to be called Twitter, I tried giving a few away to friends, but usually their hands were already full, and instead I'd invariably get term-searching randos not reading the text and just "Hey man"ning for the game, and I'd go through their replies and see where they'd done that to 30 other people. Often they had keys for sale.
I saw someone make a channel on their Discord for extra game keys they had, but right now my audience is small, and if a few people picked up that they could get loads of keys to resell, same problem. The worst scenario would be it gathering a bunch of people who only participate in Buying/Selling/Trading keys, and my Discord becoming "that" instead of what it's meant to be.
I don't want to take this too seriously, but I want to give the games to someone who's going to take a few with at least the intent to play them. Not take as many as they can get with the express intention of hoarding or reselling them.
