Casually fighting my computer as per usual on getting it to run properly. lately the biggest issue I've come upon is weird behavior when any program tries to access any sorta of data from one of the drives, suspect being a fairly new HHD bought back in May, it cause those programs to hang before either working again for a short time, or simply crashing out. In fact it can crash so badly that the whole system freezes requiring a forced shutdown, which isn't something you want to do.
However, even worse what ever the issue is, seems to be much worse than it currently seems as shutting down suddenly takes a good 5-10 minutes, but all the while rebooting it will get stuck on the "resetting" screen and require a force shutdown (also something you probably don't want to do, especially after a system file check and it found something broken.)
So I've spent roughly nearly 7 hours trying figure out the issue. By scanning the drive in case its some kind of malware, doing another system file check in case the problem it fixed the first time broke when it fucked up trying to reboot. And all this happened after I got a bunch steam keys as part of the jingle jam, and steam was like "Fuck me man, don't know why but your getting a lot disk errors and well I'm just gonna freeze everytime you try to select a game or look at the downloads. Oh you want to cancel that download? well fuck you, I'm freezing and crashing Windows Explore dare you to hold down that power button fucker!"
