I didn’t really have high expectations going into this movie. To be completely honest, I thought it was gonna be really bad. But after watching it with a group of friends, I ended up being pleasantly surprised by the movie. It’s not the best movie I’ve ever seen, but I feel like it’s probably the best outcome for a FNAF movie.
The character writing is really fun. The dynamics between the characters is often entertaining. And honestly that’s probably where the movie worked best for me. I loved seeing the back-and-forths that Mike had with the other characters in the cast.
Also I have to point out how just so much of this movie is done with practical effects. They fully crafted animatronic suits for the main cast of the first game, and it’s super impressive. And how they move throughout the movie is really well done.
This movie is rarely scary to me, but I think that’s a good thing. I don’t think a movie based on FNAF 1 could really be scary, but that’s just me. They seemed to take a really comedic angle with the movie, and I had an absolute blast watching the movie because of it.
There’s definitely more I could talk about with this movie. For example, some of the shots and sequences are really well crafted. I’m tired though so this is more of a mini-review more than anything else. When it comes to the FNAF movie, there’s definitely a noticeable passion behind it. I think the movie is really fun, and watching it with friends was a really fun experience. Though at the same time, I don’t think I’d ever watch it again.
