If so, what do you like to read?

Dragging my feet on the oars but the boat is officially done(i think). Here she is in fishing trim with a fairly traditional paint job weighing in at a stout(?) 3,273 tris. It's not really saying much but I think this is probably the best model I've made, even though it's been considerable time since my last attempts. It's nice to be reminded that skills hang around sometimes even when you don't attend to them for a time.

This project has also given me a new appreciation for the dory form. I grew up in heavy dory country but never really paid them much mind, because frankly I think as a pleasure craft they are fairly ill-suited, at least in traditional form. They're usually built big and chunky; a sturdy workboat for the open ocean or rocky inshore, and in that regard they are among the very best. Should be noted that the dory form, even banks dories varied in the details a bit throughout their range from southern New England up through Newfoundland and depending on who built them. I've also done what I'd call a 'launch' trim with five seat planks and an extra set of thole pins which you'll maybe see at some point, too. I think you could maybe fit eight people snugly in that one if you had to? Probably nine if you're fitting Victorians or Georgians, which you just might be.

I've got a bunch to learn before I can produce a nice render and I've kindly gotten another prompt that's given me an idea for a combined scene so the WIP screenshots will continue, stay tuned :)
