The strongest argument I've ever heard against universal healthcare is "People are dying in line waiting for medical treatment in Canada" Ok sure but people are dying in the United States because they can't AFFORD healthcare here, and those who do choose to seek treatment, if they DO make it to the end of that line, they have to pay tens of thousands of dollars for the treatment they needed to SURVIVE.

"Oh but it'll raise taxes" In countries with free healthcare and free education, the citizens are more than happy to pay those taxes in exchange for the peace of mind. In this country, we'd rather our taxes be spent on our military.

Our military spending, by the way, lost between 31 and 60 BILLION during the Iraq and Afghanistan wars due to FRAUD. AND the Defense Logistics Agency just couldn't account for some 800 Million dollars in construction costs. AND the Pentagon can't account for 2.5 TRILLION DOLLARS IN ASSETS.

But God forbid we give our less fortunate citizens the help they need. We'd rather make homelessness illegal and casually throw away a couple trillion dollars on our military. Absolutely pathetic.

sat out for about 2 hours under an oak tree with stevie & a cup of tea to do some more birdwatching today :]

thanks to them bopping about on the branches just above me with a group of bluetits, i finally found out what the birds who usually always hang out in the young birch trees are and it turns out they're one of my favourites too 😭 bullfinches!!! they're all either juveniles or females so none of them have the really recognisable pink bellies which is what threw me off identifying them for so long (+ they're very quiet and merlin was struggling to pick up their calls). bluetits are one of my favourites too.. all hanging out together in the one tree... everything's coming up jim

didn't see much else of note (house sparrows, grey crows, magpies, collared dove..) but heard a raven calling from the direction of a pine forest about a kilometre across the fields where i hear the buzzards calling from a lot as well. all those bigger birds must build their nests in there where it's safe and far from any people... i should see if i can try get in there someday soon since there's a badger's den up there i want to investigate as well + it's usually in the surrounding fields that i see irish hares and i've not seen ONE since being home yet. show me them!!!!!!!
