Anachronistic Psychosis - Demo
Five minutes of brutal death metal with technical elements and some blackened undertones, Anachronistic Psychosis isn’t your average troglodyte slam band. Especially interesting is the lyrical content on this demo, which avoids the usual gore-drenched subject matter associated with genre. I’m looking forward to hearing more from this project.
Desolus - System Shock
A blitzkrieg of Teutonic-style thrash, you’re going to snap your neck headbanging to System Shock. Desolus are extremely skilled at what they do, but there’s nothing really new or groundbreaking going on here here. Whatever, it’s fucking sick, so it doesn’t need to be innovative. A necessity for the thrash metal maniacs.
Heroic Viking - Sorcerer
Fantasy-themed synthwave, Heroic Viking is killing it with this album. Swords and sorcery may not seem like a good pairing with retro 80s synths, but the tracks on Sorcerer proves otherwise. Recommended.
Inthuul - Harbinger of Sorrow
Malevolent, atmospheric black metal from Belarus, Inthuul expertly balances ferocity and melody on their latest release. Enthusiast of cold, ominous black metal will want Harbinger of Sorrow in their collection.
Marquis de Sade - Marquis de Sade I
Two tracks of vicious USBM, this is a solid demo from Marquis de Sade. If you’re into black metal, you’ll want to hear this.
Nether - The Blood of Rats
The sophomore release from this Belgian black metal group, The Blood of Rats is an impressive album. Nether’s sound is both aggressive and sisterly atmospheric, there’s a lot of influence from old school black metal, but the music isn’t derivative. Check it out.
