many a tale has been spun about johnny appleseed hiking across the country leaving trees in his wake, paul bunyan swinging his mighty axe across the logging camps of the midwest, pecos bill wrestling and tying down tornadoes in the great deserts of the south, captain stormalong cutting through the Atlantic down the coast. many a folk legend has gone overlooked but their contributions to America still remain.

honestly the humor for me here isn't that it's proposing there was a man who went around America eating ass so much he became a folk hero, but that he would be an American who existed sometime after the 18th century compared to [gestures vaguely at the rest of the world's existence and history]. but then again Americans would think we invented it, so.
we're not counting Benjamin Franklin because he ate a lot more than just ass adn is an outlier that should not be counted.
