~20 years ago back in high school there was a very legal media/software server that was being ran out of the Computer Stuff class. on this server there was a music video of a techno/EDM song being played at a rave. the song had this hook that has since been a spectre that periodically popped into my brain every once in a while.
for years, every time this stupid hook materialized into my head again, i would use shazam or whatever else options were available at the time to find the song, and i could never get results.
tonight i was on the google app doing very critical research on the difference between rabbits and hares. below the first few results there was a featured feature of google's song ID whatever bullshit. i decided i'd give it another go.
i hummed the hook of this song, expecting the same "no results" result that i had always gotten.
but it actually populated a list of songs, and near the bottom there was a result that was a 4% match. the thumbnail was a big crowd, like i remembered, and the artist name was very EDM. i clicked on it.
Cygnus X - Superstring (Rank 1 Remix)
i found it. it's real. that hook is exactly what i remember it being. i was so convinced i would be some old fuck dying in bed with dementia rambling about this song while everybody in the room would be helplessly confused. (this is assuming i don't die in the water wars)
i take everything back, AI is good now*
It's very important to remember, when discussing JD Vance and his wife, that the cuck chair refers to the person sitting on it, not the chair itself. The chair is actually getting quite a bit of action.
I do a weekly "virtual movie night" thing with some friends of mine where we all log onto Xbox chat and hit play on a movie at the same time. Someone suggested Fight Club to start the month and I happily voted in favor of it. Gave me an excuse to finally do a full run through David Fincher's filmography like I did with Scorsese late last year. As of today, I finished it:
