im not sure what's going on, but I have verified that this is not a local issue by using a few external dns lookup tools, cohost.org is not a valid domain anymore
I ended up using https://osint.sh/dnshistory/ to get the last known ip address for cohost (just remember to scroll to the bottom, since it's ordered from oldest to newest) and then edited my hosts file to point cohost.org to that ip
If you are still browsing cohost fine right now, then either this issue has already been fixed or your device still has the domain cached and if it's the latter you might want to take note of the steps I took above
Update: there is now a bug report
2nd update: It appears to have been fixed! (around 35 mins after I made this post, which is surprisingly quick tbh)
"More like Serial Experiments Lame," is the most devastating thing you can say to someone.
Ya know, sharing cohost posts would be a lot easier if non-cohosters opening the link wouldn't be hit by the entirety of our extra-long, gif-laden profiles before they get to the meat of the post.
Also, I agree that Artist Alley ads should be displayed either instead of the cohost corner ooor to the left, below the menu.
I've said it five times already: I have always loved ads on Something Awful and LP archive. If we made the creative folks ovahea advertise via animated banners, we'd all benefit from it.
