Two tracks of mid-paced, thrashy black metal, fans of the genre will appreciate Blistering Ways. For those who don’t enjoy this style of music, Damnatör will be of little interest.
I Have No Mouth - Roots of Chaos
Lo-fi hardcore/grind from middle America, Roots of Chaos isn’t bad or anything, it's just not particularly noteworthy or memorable. I Have No Mouth's most promising track on the demo is the longest one, “Self Immolation,” which incorporates foreboding melodic segments. I hope the band develops their sound a bit, because there’s definitely potential.
Mana - Demo 2024
Finnish black metal with some punk elements, this is a solid little demo from Mana. Check it out.
Massacred - Human Extermination
When I say that Human Extermination is a “loving homage” to Mortician, I actually mean that Massacred is a complete and total Mortician clone. Is this a tribute? Plagiarism? I don’t know, but this band has clearly invested a lot of effort and skill to sound like Mortician. If you like Mortician, check this out and see what you think.
Snuffed - Demo 2024
Old school death metal with some doom and crust undertones, this demo is chaotic, rough, and just a bit grimy. I suspect many osdm fans won’t appreciate this release because the band’s sound isn’t sufficiently “cavernous,” but that’s their loss.
Socialistik Primer - Primed To Be Human
The debut release from this Finnish band, Primed To Be Human is five tracks of tumultuous hardcore punk with some metallic influences. Hardcore isn’t really my thing, but I enjoyed what Socialistik Primer is doing here.
