The left one was an attack for Art Fight. The right one was for me, trying to get the character design finalized. But I stuck the character into Art Fight just to see if anyone would tackle her.

This probably is the most challenging of the style studies Ive done. Ive found that the semi-realistic neo-classical style is one of the hardest to replicate in 3d, and the bizarre shapes of the decorations were also very difficult to wrap my head around in 3d.
The lineart is all done in blender with grease pencil. the lettering was drawn as a vector in affinity designer before importing it into blender as a svg.
This was rendered as 4 layers, (foreground, main lineart, colors, and an opacity mask for the background decorations) plus 2 color gradient layers I made in affinity photo, before compositing the whole thing in clip studio paint. The color layer had lots of post-process in blender's compositor also

A fascinating study of coyotes living in urban areas and how humans have influenced the species. Coyotes appear to have benefited from urbanization, with their range expanding drastically over the past 100 years, despite the fact that cities are a far more dangerous setting for them than rural areas. The book also dispels a lot of the myths and misunderstandings about urban coyotes, with 20+ years of scientific study to back up the claims. All that, along with some really solid photography, makes Coyotes Among Us an enjoyable read.
