Season 3 Queen of the Damned on the horizon, fuck yeah.

I DO have some concerns, especially since they've got a Talamasca show in the pipe... That being Replimoids, The Parents, and Atlantis. If you know Anne Rice/The Vampire Chronicles, you know what I'm talking about. If not, here's the shortest summary.

The original vampire happened because a dying Egyptian queen had her soul forcibly mixed with the spirit of a long-dead human-Replimoid hybrid that had been summoned by witches. Said human-replimoid hybrid, Amel, was prior to this founder and ruler of Atlantis - yes, full proper magical Atlantis - after he was abducted by a species of extraterrestrial bird-like aliens known as The Parents, from Planet Bravenna, and turned into a Replimoid hybrid. Replimoids are humanoid in appearance but reproduce via branching (limb-loss cloning basically) and are immortal because their souls travel beyond death. Straight facts.

I... I really hope they... Don't... Do that whole part of the storyline? Suddenly jumping to raw-dawg sci-fantasy is not the vibe of anything before it and it's such a tonal whiplash that it'd burn down any good standing the prior shows create.

In World of Darkness, heavily inspired by Anne Rice, Vamps are god-cursed - Cain, Abel, y'know, normal shit - and Atlantis/other weird supernatural shit beyond all the other monsters is Mages, instead of fucking legit Aliens. Supernatural phenomena/magic is supposed to be extant in the world but isn't, b/c Mages (in their hubris) fucked up Atlantis and broke the connection of the Supernal to the world, and now it's all handled by the few awakened humans left with the power to shape reality that aren't under the heel of the Exarchs, god-king rulers of what remains of the Supernal Realm and tyrants of the supernatural.

It's just more fitting, tonally. But fuck knows if or how they'll go about it.

At least we got some really good vampires out of it for now.
