The United Airlines Flight Training Center, on the left edge of this pic, is still operational today and even constructing a new wing even though it's now nowhere near the airport lol

So like, Central Park here has a runway in it...which didn't exist in the airport before the park was constructed. So they had to demolish the old runways and make a new runway lol. Why?
