Been trying to make the final push for the end of Final Fantasy IX today. It's been a long time coming(which is a whole other post, hopefully) and I thought I was doing pretty well, things were going smoothly until I was very suddenly and unceremoniously clothes-lined by what I think is probably the final boss. Wow ok damn. I've got some strats to try, but being knocked so thoroughly on my ass was the impetus I needed to take a break after several hours. I don't really game like that anymore, brings me way back :D
You're holding a cat. They're just being chill and nice right this second, but that's right this second. You must watch them carefully. Very carefully. Are they looking happy? Are they looking mad? You must listen to them closely, for even the slightest grumble or "mrrp" or sigh. You need to feel their movement — each twitch, or how they shift their weight, could indicate that they're about to really tell you off.
And then they shut their eyes and start purring. How dare you consider putting them down.
for an anticapitalist, i really like products. i think it’s really neat how much work we as a society put in to making things that are really neat and cool and interesting. i love it when people from all sorts of niche hobbies go around examining a wide swath of products to carefully compare the subtle differences in quality and vibe. i love the way these objects are designed, from the utilitarian to the minimalist to the maximalist. and i also really love it when people learn and feel out how these products work into their life, and what types of things matter to them, and what kinds don’t. i know that this isn’t an uncommon opinion; we’re groomed at a young age to cultivate a reverence for products, strong associations between brands, and a passion for consumerism, and i know that i’ve gotten sucked into it into that mindset. but even then, i’ll still find it endlessly fascinating.
