The DnD game I'm in is wrapping up its first major campaign arc and moving into its second! I've been jokingly referring to it as Season 2 ala an anime, as we will be having a time skip. I like to take the bigger breaks between plots to revamp a characters typical dress and look. Here on the left is Samir's SE1 usual look. And on the right is his look going in to the next arc. A lot has change about him! and I want that to be visually apparent.
The Initial build and concept
Build- Vampire Cleric, Twilight Domain
Samir is a former sun elf turned vampire. The country he's from were devout followers of Bahamut until one day, the avatar of that God died (how is still a mystery) and left them vulnerable to the attacks of the rapidly growing undead uprising. Samir was initially a cleric to Bahamut and attempted to beat back the hordes but was ultimately taken by the vampire leading the raids. He spent the next near century as a vampire spawn, stripped of his own agency to do anything but his Sire's bidding.
When the undead uprising ended, Samir was cut loose of his Sire's hold. He tried to go home but there wasn't a warm welcome, to put it lightly. His loved ones dead and his church rejecting him, he fled into the woods. Eventually, he encountered a sign from a new deity, Eilistraee. Mother to the misunderstood and those wishing to reform, he gladly took her up as his new point of faith. He was given a symbol of her support in the form of his new weapon. Now he works to heal the wounds of the undead uprising, find those undead who are in distress as he once was to give them safe harbor and advocate for them.

Personality- Lawful good -> Lawful neutral
Samir is direct and kind. He doesn't like to keep secrets, talk behind someone's back or plot downfalls. He wants to encourage environments of cooperation and mutual aid. He'll make friends with just about anyone who stands near him long enough. His current name is a chosen one, and he took it because it means "good friend or companion who talks late into the night". He does however have a bit of a temper. When encountering people who are willfully cruel or inflexible in their arguments he'll get his hackles up. He hates being lied to or being used, a problem he's had a lot of experience with due to his trusting nature. He will act first, reflect later. Respectful of law and order in his living years he's learned the hard way that something being legal doesn't make it moral. This has caused him to re-evaluate his adherence to prior norms and begin gasp breaking the law (especially since his very existence is considered a crime in several countries).

Going into Season 2
Over the course of this first arc, Samir has had to confront a lot about himself and his place in the greater politics of the continent he lives on. His convictions to help other undead have only become stronger, and he's becoming more confident in outing himself as a vampire. He used to hide behind a glamour at all times to come off as unassuming as possible. That's becoming less the case going forward. He's still kind, he still is most happy when he's helping others. But he's taking less of people's shit.
Mechanically, this is reflected in the fact that he's taken his first level in Barbarian and also gotten a tattoo that both covers his old Sire mark and imbues him with new powers. His clothes in the past were always high necked to hide his mark. Now he has one he's proud of, one that reflects who he is on his own ground.

I'm really excited to play with ability combos between Cleric of the Twilight Domain, Barbarian AND Vampire abilities (which we've homebrewed, taking bits from the Damphir rules and Vampire monster rules and a few of our own). He's going to become a force to be reckoned with. And while he thinks himself an agent of justice and good, he is certainly a villain to others in the wider world of our game.
Anyway, that's my boy! I draw him a ton, so I figured I'd give a rundown of who he is. You'll definitely see more of him in the future. :P
Elexis Sinclaire did nothing wrong. Only a mild amount of eugenics.
