I appreciate the fact discourse happens here and I also appreciate I don't see it. Like unlike some other sites I literally do not ever see it. Well almost always. I saw burger girl discourse but like that's hardly the biggest deal. But, the fact is I feel way more in control over what I subject myself to here and that's kind of nice tbh.

So I've been enjoying replaying Rain World to get access to the new DLC content that just came out, and it brought to mind how much I enjoyed following the TIGsource devlog that it had for several years (the thread is a good 300+ pages long!), so I decided I'd go back and skim it again, as the thread has a lot of nice debug visualisations and write-ups and whatnot.
But it turns out all the images at the time were uploaded to tinypic, so the entire thread is just filled with this bastard!
And to make matters worse, while the thread has been archived in the wayback machine several times over the years, the vast majority of images slipped through the cracks and aren't present in the archive1

So unless someone happens to have a full archive of the thread somewhere that we don't know about or videocult happens to have all those old screenshots sitting around somewhere its all just lost to time, which hugely sucks!

There's one capture of the first page in the thread that miraculously has the images archived correctly, every other capture of every other page is missing them that I could see.
thinking about the kinds of phrases that only exist due to iconic comics (usually xkcd, but not always). things like sealioning, and that one phrase i saw on cohost yesterday that came from xkcd that i don’t remember but someone will definitely say in the comments and i’ll quietly update my post so nobody will ever know i forgot.
so... urbit is on hn and it looks like it really has evolved... from the haystack it used to be into something usable?
but i doubt any of the politics have changed so ... yeah salt that HDD you downloaded it onto or it might rise from the dead and haunt you
