What I want: remove fragments of silence from a video. What I need for that: see detailed audio waveform and be able to cut video and audio at the same time. What "Fairlight" window can: show detailed audio waveform. What "Edit" window can: cut video and audio at the same time.

???

Why can't I zoom-in (scale?) waveform in "Edit" or cut everything in "Fairlight"?? how do I edit aaaarrrghh

  • very late again lmao
  • had my first hello fresh meal last night/tonight/whenever and it was really good! I mean, it was really good to have food that wasn't take-out that I could actually eat. my abusers are for the time being letting me have this because they say I'm fat and that "this is better than ordering out all the time". assholes only care about how others perceive me because they think I reflect back on them poorly. still, for now, this will hopefully be a viable food source for food that I can actually eat and have access to that isn't the same 4 fast food places. anyway that got more unhappy than intended, this is a good thing!
  • oh yeah, it was the cheese-filled burgers I had. it was good, and filling... damn it's good to be full for once
  • gay
  • was reminded of why I've wanted to get into photography again recently. I want to take cool pictures of cool things and places, but I mean, I left the house 10-ish times last year, so I don't exactly go to cool things or places. plus my phone is I think over 6 years old now, not doing too great, and that's the only camera I have
  • I am once again hoping we can build a liquid-mirror telescope on the moon. 24/7 viewing opportunities if in the right place, easier and cheaper to maintain and construct, easier to launch to space. plus, it would be something to actually do for astronauts on the surface of the moon. like, there are a lot of things to do there, but NASA's main focus was always satisfying the military industrial complex contractors who were pissed the space shuttle was retired, not actually doing anything genuinely useful or constructive
  • and don't get me started on spy satellites. too late, I'm getting started on spy satellites. we've launched hundreds if not thousands of spy satellites, mostly between the US and USSR/Russia. spy satellites are literally just space telescopes designed to focus on the earth instead of facing outward. a lot of them, especially ones in the last 30 years, have been on par or more capable than Hubble. can you imagine if we had just tweaked them to look out instead of in? can you imagine if humanity had thousands of Hubbles!? it's genuinely mind blowing and disheartening and flabbergasts me to hell and back every time I think of it. they're there! in orbit! they exist! they've been paid for and build and launched and used! but they focus on spying on each other and contributing to the military industrial complex. it's not even like turning them into space telescopes would have been harder or more expensive, it's purely a matter of calibrating and setting it so it can focus on nearby objects - aka the earth - instead of far ones. what's even sadder is they can't even reconfigure on-orbit spy satellites to function as space telescopes because it's a physical construction thing. and don't get me wrong, I'm not lying to myself and saying that there was ever a possible world where the US and USSR/Russia decided to say "fuck spy satellites, let's turn them all into telescopes but launch them at a cadence as if they were spy satellites." but it's one of those perspective things that always floors me. even 10% of the world's spy satellites would be over a hundred space telescopes. it's astounding. amazing, in the literal sense.
  • aaa sorry I got going on my bullshit again lmao
  • I want cuddles from my Emma again

Hey, I noticed I've never shared the synthwave music list that I use to work/write/program/whatever. So in case anyone is interested, there it is.

I've added a couple of songs that aren't exactly syntwave, but that I really like. Also, there is some music with Chinese lyrics, because I'm trying to learn the idiom. But they are good songs, so I hope that doesn't stop anyone from listening to them.

Also, I hate to be supporting Spotify in some way, even if I don't pay their Premium or anything. I know the CEO is a shithead (zero surprises here) and that they support other shitheads like Joe Rogan who spreads misinformation and gives voice to fucking neonazis. Unfortunately, I haven't found much of this music in other platforms that treat the artists better, like Bandcamp or Soundcloud. You know what they say about ethical consumption and capitalism, but still please let me know if there are better alternatives.
