Bit late to the funeral, I know.

For those who don't know, he was one of the founding members of Yellow Magic Orchestra. If you've ever wondered what genre, exactly, video game music is, it happens to consist mostly of Yellow Magic Orchestra ripoffs, which makes them maybe one of the most influential bands ever. Though Ryuichi Sakamoto and Haruomi Hosono get most of the acclaim, all three members were influential, and I can't believe it took me this long to check out Takahashi's solo stuff. His album Neuromantic is more poppy than anything else that came out of this collective, the most suited for a long drive. He had an exceedingly long career that continued pretty much up to his death, and I'm excited to see what stylistic variation it contains. I feel some guilt, as I saw some guy on RYM say, that it took his death to prompt me to do this, but better late than never.

It somehow only just now occurred to me that I never see when someone liked or shared a rechost that I didn't contribute to, and that this means that nobody else sees that info, either; likes are purely between the viewer and whoever made the post being liked, and who a post was shared via is only visible to someone other than those individuals if you go to the sharer's page (or are following them, in which case it'll be in your feed). Social media poobrain syndrome had taught me to worry about playing politics with whose share of the same post I liked (not that anyone ever gave me a hard time about it, but social anxiety isn't exactly the most rational process), but here on Cohost that's basically a non-issue, since the person I'm following can't even see if I liked a post or not unless it was their post to begin with. Neat!
