Out of everyone I knew who was jumping ship from Twitter to here, it feels like I'm the only one who was able to take root and survive. I am always going to wonder why. What makes a person stay with a new community or leave? Why did I stay? What do I get out of this place that I don't get from, say, tumblr or mastodon?
