ideally I want to post in both english and japanese on my blog but it feels like too much effort to write everything twice. it's also a lot easier to just write in markdown here on my phone and send it off here as opposed to doing all the HTML tags by hand for my static-pages-only blog (pandoc would work, but that'd be a bit fiddly on android). hand-coding an rss feed feels like a chore too (it probably won't be that bad once I get started though, I guess)
inexplicably, i'm also nervous about writing nonsense on my blog as I have my translation portfolio there too, so I don't want to seem "unprofessional." I say "inexplicably" because (a) my twitter account is/was my major means of professional networking and my tweets are a mess, and (b) i have all my social media contacts on my site but no clients have ever contacted me that way, and I have never actually shown my site to any clients either
trying to write this all in the attempt to alleviate my misgivings. maybe i'll get started soonish
i've given it a start at least—just copied a few of my chosts to the en blog here (can't seem to get previews to display—maybe because it's not https? edit: looks like the preview is working now):
i even started an rss feed! its actual valid rss! I didn't bother to put the whole contents of each post in the rss description because modern readers can fetch that for you anyway
(maybe I'll buy a nice short url with https one day (i wish moji dot love wasn't already taken), but I'll make do with what I have for now)
