so yesterday i had my alarm set for 6:15. i woke up about 6:10 and laid there for a little bit until my alarm went off. except when it went off, i didn't hear my ringtone, but rather this sound dinging at me until i turned off the alarm. after i turned it off, it asked me to log in.

turns out, it had restarted during the night¹, and i guess since it wasn't logged in, it couldn't access my user settings, even though it could still access alarms. the "castor" ringtone is the sound that android uses when it can't load a system sound. pretty neat!

¹ sidenote: i was really pissed off about this actually. i got a new phone for christmas, so this is the first time i've been receiving android updates in a few years. has android always done this shit?? restarting unprompted is the single most annoying thing about windows, and now you're telling me my phone does it too?? i have "smart updates" on which downloads and installs updates automatically, but i didn't think that entailed restarting the phone in the night...

When is someone going to make a game you need to turn your switch into portrait mode to play. Am I gonna have to make it myself. That was always the most fun kind of DS game cmon guys let's go back to the days of Extended Techniques
