The wrestlers who leave are being replaced with different wrestlers I HAVE NEVER SEEN BEFORE who are competing with the scores of the departed wrestlers

I keep asking "who the fuck is THAT? He wasn't there on day one!" because they don't announce a substitution. The new men are just there and the commentator treats it as though he's been there the whole time.

Okay so I looked up one of the rikishi who appeared for the first time tonight, Bushozan. He's Juryo #1. Okay so that means they're keeping the brackets even by bringing in wrestlers from the rank under Maegashira to fill open slots. He's punching above his weight too because he won his bout tonight, too. Wow.

Okay so now I'm checking out the action on the Juryo division tournament and it's like oh look!! There's Terutsuyoshi!! There's Daiamami!! THERES ENHŌ!!! So many faces I know from the upper division tourneys from the past! They didn't quit they just got demoted!! Fight your way back up, boys!! Fiiiight!!!!
