a few years ago i figured out a workflow within Unity that allowed me to create screenshots that looked like they came out of a manga or comic of some kind. I decided to test out what an actual comic would look like in that 3D crosshatch style, and the visuals actually weren't bad considering it was 3D models made to look similar to 2D drawings.
it doesn't really look 2D - it's pretty heavily on-model and the posing is difficult to give dynamic flow - but it's kind of its own style. pretty neat to try out, nonetheless.
