I'm Lyric Solitaire. My gender is Filipino and my race is They/Them. I've been on cohost for a few weeks now but neglected to make an intro post until now because I'm lazy about that sort of thing. I'll probably update this later.

so far I have found a lot of joy in this cohost community but I wanted to reach out and garner some more friends. My interests include:

Wrestling! I am a huge wrestling fan. It's one of my big special interests. I only got into it in college so I got a lot of holes in older wrestling history. But I'm always looking to learn something new. I am personally deeply drawn into violent intimacy and dramatic storytelling that I think is so specifically unique to this medium. I've mostly watched AEW but I am particularly interested more these days in the indie scene. Going to local indie shows has changed my life. My personal favorite wrestlers right now are Effy, Maki Itoh, Kidd Bandit, and Edith Surreal.

TTRPGs! I love telling stories. And I think that TTRPGS are a fantastic way to do that. I've been playing various games of all sorts of systems for a long time now and I can mostly be found GMing a game basically once every week. I've also tried my hand just a little at writing games. Most of those games have never been posted anywhere but I did participate in the 2019 200 word rpg challenge and my game, "hey, this song reminds me of you" was one of the three winners.

Music! I love music. Huge fan of indie bands. used to be more involved in my local scene before covid 19 happened and most of the house venues around me closed down. I'm also an amateur guitarist, very out of practice. Right now my favorite bands are Insignificant Other, Origami Angel, and The Buildings.

Gundam and Star Wars are also really big for me as franchises. I'm not as big into engaging in fandom spaces these days but I will occasionally yell about those things when I remember to.

ok so i watched My First Summer (2020). it's an Australian coming-of-age sapphic romance directed by Katie Found, starring Markella Kavanagh and Maiah Stewardson. it did a quick run on the Australian film festival circuit and picked up a few accolades.

i quite liked the film. as far as sapphic romance movies go, it's not my favorite, but it was quite good and it made me smile. i don't think it's a perfect movie, but over on Letterboxd the negative reviews demonstrate a pattern that i find incredibly concerning and frustrating.
