watching cohost grow in features as needed, with small inconveniences being fixed (switching pages while on a post) to big usability upgrades (this mobile update) with conveniences sprinkled in (quick share on mobile) makes it so clear that not only do the eggbugg wranglers use the site but they have context on frustrations we face.

it's been a while since i've used a site with this kind of membership that seems to be actively paying attention.

also? all of the amazing work by staff that i can see clear evidence of (not to mention the transparency) makes it so that small things that would turn me off are easy to ignore. probably bc i know staff is working their eggbooties off (while hopefully keeping work life balance).

also, it feels fun to open it up, engage for a bit, and then it's easy to disengage.

all this to say (with too many parentheses and not enough em dashes) i am very thankful for the team and the people that this app exists

HAPPY WOLFENOOT!

Wolfenoot takes place the day before Thanksgiving, and IMO beats the hell out of Thanksgiving. The goals are similar and there's no racist bullshit. 

So what the heck is Wolfenoot?

Well, one day in New Zealand, someone's child came up with a holiday to celebrate dogs & wolves, and along with it, a story about a Great Wolf Spirit who died. The original ideas are that people give each other small gifts, and their dogs get bigger gifts; make a full moon themed cake; eat meat (if you eat meat), & be kind to each other, and appreciate dogs and wolves. The website strongly recommends making donations to dog rescues or wolf organizations. https://www.wolfenoot.com/about

I personally implement this as a Thanksgiving-like holiday to pack bond, eat food, and promote donations to wolf charities :) This holiday is great if you are passionate about wildlife conservation!

I'd like to vouch for the Endangered Wolf Center, based in MO, who do very similar work to the much more famous & funded NY Wolf Center! Perhaps adopt one of their wolves? https://www.endangeredwolfcenter.org/

...but the adjustments broke a couple of things in my purple userstyle for desktop again >.<

On the upside, I figured out how to apply userstyles on mobile firefox, and Cohost Purple works pretty much fine right out of the box. Just needs a few tweaks.
So later this week I'm gonna get to work on the next major update for Cohost Purple. :3
