I just spent way too long muddling through this to make a silly reaction post, and I still haven't figured out the last problem, but I'm proud of how much I did get working. Maybe someone has a solution for the last part (though it may require much more complicated code that I wouldn't end up bothing with anyway).

Had the thought that—given cohost's user base are mostly vaguely-techy nerds and how big a part of site culture CSS crimes and hacking are—someone has to have implemented DOOM (1993) on here. It's surprising no one has yet.
