I love ethology and working in farm animal welfare, but it's SO frustrating how restricted we are in making things better. We have to find ways to improve pig welfare BUT without touching the farm infrastructure or changing the employees' schedules too much.

This basically amounts to putting a band-aid on an open wound, it does so little it's frustrating, especially since we know what would make things significantly better but we can't do it!!

We're currently testing giving CBD to pigs to reduce cannibalism and like, we have way more effective ways to make them less stressed like more space, foraging material, access to the outside, but we can't do those... so let's give some cannabis to pigs i guess
