it's stupidly fast! it's fun! last time building one was definitely before mc's release!

we have short range teleporters (travel anchors) but due to the distance involved, chunks taking too long to load & a 2 second delay on teleports, this is actually faster (as this uses railcraft's high speed rails)

anyway I've been having a blast in Gregtech: New Horizons, it's an immensely complex expert pack but if you're bored of other modpacks, give this a shot, it's cool! Its expansiveness actually motivates me to build things because they'll be around for a long time & will be actually useful!

for people who are familiar with 1.7.10 mods/gtnh: the pipe spaghetti on the left is our old oil refinery, it's since been replaced by a much bigger complex that is run off of oil bees: iirc there's about 90 alvearies that produce combs to be processed in the oil pipeline into high-octane gasoline.
This is used in big combustion engines (comb engines as I like to call them, pun intended) that power the entire base & produce enough pollution for the sun to be no longer visible in that area :')

..........Let's just say there's a reason that we run a backup every 30 minutes lol

Honestly, this is a really fun pack for people who are tired of regular difficulty mod packs and want something they can grind away on by doing a little at a time, for a long time. We've been playing this with 3-4 people for 3 months now and we're only roughly 20% done. I got a fulltime job and log 1-2 hours every day.

You see, as an engineer, I spend all day doing complicated engineering work and afterwards, I relax by doing much less complicated video game engineering.

It's surely very grindy with complicated recipes, but the QoL the mods add brings so much to the game that it's a completely new experience.

In other packs l would hardly ever die; I've been playing minecraft for 12 years and after that long it just becomes too easy, even modded.

In this pack, if you mess up, you mess up bad and we only do rollbacks for "total loss" type events like this. Hole in the floor but recoverable? Just rebuild and move on.

We also have a rule that old infrastructure and machinery is left intact as much as possible, so over time you get a huge base with old systems still running things or have been put out of service and are just om display, because it looks cool!
