Akk dogs, sometimes called aak dogs, were large reptomammals native to Haruun Kal.
Scaled reptomammals native to Haruun Kal, akk dogs were Force-sensitive and thus capable of being domesticated by the native Korunnai. Great companions to these nomadic people, maturing from pups to Hounds in two to four months, akks were used for protection—not only of the tribe, but of the great grasser herds shepherded through the jungles by Korun herders.
Akk dogs had triangular teeth in jaws strong enough to crush durasteel; large black tongues; scaly hides that could block a lightsaber; armored, muscular tails the length of their body; shovel-sized splayed claws; and armored, lidless eyes. Their bodies were as long as landspeeders. Their heads had six vestigial horns arranged in a triangular pattern, and they had olfactory pits next to their nose. Akk dogs had two smaller varieties, and were also related to akk wolves.
on Malastare in 32 BBY in 32 BBY
Following the Ruusan Reformations of the Galactic Republic, akks were often seen as companion to Jedi Knights, forming a Force bond like that seen between the Korunnai on the akks' homeworld. Akk dogs were studied by the esteemed biologist and Jedi Master Bowspritz during his visit to the Exploration Corps compound on Ord Canfre.
Illegal trade of akks reached new heights around 32 BBY, as smugglers on Nar Shaddaa sent the hounds off to various worlds, most notably the Dug homeworld of Malastare. While on Malastare dealing with the unrelated matter of the Red Iaro terrorist group, several members of the Jedi High Council were attacked by several akk dogs. Due to his Korun heritage, Master Mace Windu was able to calm the hounds, but became deeply troubled by their use as attackers. Taking it upon himself to investigate the increased smuggling of these creatures, Windu traveled to Nar Shaddaa in hopes of shutting down the black market there. Meeting with fellow Jedi Depa Billaba and Quinlan Vos, Windu commandeered a speeder bike to reach the Circus Horrificus complex, where mutant akk dogs were being used. Along with his brother and sister Jedi, Windu confronted Gargonn the Hutt, the leader of the smuggling ring, and shut down his operation.
During the Clone Wars, Windu encountered akks once more when he returned to his home planet of Haruun Kal to find Depa Billaba, who had fallen into madness there.
Inspired by the ferociousness of akk dogs, the Skaak Tippers slicer gang incorporated the word "aak" into the name of their gang so as to give the impression that they were a pack of ferocious computer hackers.
While "akk dog" is used in the majority of Star Wars Legends sources, they were called "aak dogs" in the Star Wars Galaxies game and related material.
Blitz was a Clone ARC Commander in Rancor Battalion. They, along with fellow ARC Commander Colt and ARC Commander Havoc, oversaw clone trooper training during the Clone Wars.
Blitz like all clones was created on the aquatic planet of Kamino, from the DNA of the late bounty hunter Jango Fett. During the Clone Wars they served as an ARC trooper with the military rank of Clone Commander, and was placed in Rancor Battalion. During the Clone Wars, they were stationed on Kamino and oversaw clone trooper training with ARC Commanders Colt, Havoc, and Hammer. They later participated in the Battle of Kamino, and when Separatist Trident drills attacked, they led three Advanced Recon Force Scout Troopers to destroy them. Blitz and Hammer were the only survivors of the few ARCs that participated in the battle.
Blitz first appeared in the episode "Clone Cadets," albeit unidentified. They were first identified in the new Star Wars canon, on the card Clone ARC Commander Blitz, released as part of the Rank & File set on the Star Wars: Card Trader app in 2018. In the Legends continuity, they were first identified by the Star Wars: The Clone Wars toy line set Defend Kamino.
Wrhisch was a male Wookiee who lived on the planet of Kashyyyk during the Galactic Civil War. He was once afflicted by a strange disease that turned him mad, along with his Wookiee followers, until a spacer put him out of his misery.
After the Battle of Yavin, a strange new disease afflicted a number of Wookiees in the vicinity of Kachirho. The illness was marked by deteriorating health, giving rise to a madness which compelled the anguished Wookiees to attack anyone who approached them. Wrhisch was one of the first to come under the sickness and likely caused other Wookiees in the area to go berserk as well. The mad Wookiees gathered in an old abandoned village at a short distance north of Kachirho and Wrhisch became their leader.
In 1 ABY, the Galactic Empire began posting bounties on the crazy Wookiee who had become too dangerous. In the meantime, the Wookiee bio-engineer Cheyerooto and a Human woman named Sera Jossi intended to discover the cause of the affliction. As Jossi considered some sacrifices might be necessary for the overall good, she tasked a spacer with killing Wrhisch and collecting his liver. The latter was one of the first to get sick and Doctor Cheyerooto thought that the liver could be used to identify the disease and develop a cure. Because Wrhisch was already dying from the decay the disease caused, the spacer accepted the task. The latter then explored the village inhabited by the mad Wookiees, found Wrhisch and attacked him. The black-and-white Wookiee was eventually killed in the fight.
After the death of Wrhisch, the spacer delivered his liver to Doctor Cheyerooto. As expected, the organ from the sick Wookiee allowed the bio-engineer to start developing a cure to treat the other afflicted Wookiees.
Wrhisch was a non-player character in the 2003 video game Star Wars Galaxies, a massively multiplayer online roleplaying game developed by Sony Online Entertainment and published by LucasArts, prior to its closure on December 15, 2011. Wrhisch was added to the game with the release of the expansion pack Rage of the Wookiees on May 5, 2005.
