I was always a little wary of this game for no reason in particular except I thought the art style was kinda weird, but I have heard such good things, plus have since played Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door and thus know for certain Mario can star in a kick ass RPG. I love a good RPG almost as much as I hate the amount of time I'm forced to put into a good RPG. Plus soon I want to check out Panzar Dragoon Saga, so I might as well get started.

So far so good! The dialogue reads like a RPG from the early 90s lmao, but I don't think that is a point against it. It's always funny how I am surprised Mario works so well in an RPG format cause I always associate him so much with platformers, but as we know Mario is a versatile guy, so him as the protagonist fits like a glove. He's always collecting coins anyway, might as well spend them on healing items.

Idk if I'm sold about Mallow yet though. Like he's fine, he's literally just a guy. I know he's technically a frog but be honest he barely resembles one. He can do thunderbolts too, so is he like a pokemon? Anyway it's really silly, but I adore silly RPGs with all my heart so I got great vibes so far.
