m life really hands you situations that so clearly show inequalities it seems scripted. classes of 8-9 year olds mostly white from the richer-neighborhoods come to the museum exhibit I teach at and they already know whats up, they're ID'ing uncommon animals and know terms like extinction and reintroduction. same-age kids mostly black from the poorer neighborhoods, they cannot read at all.
theyre not even 10 years old and so many systems, structures, and people have failed them so monumentally . it's horrific. and its Normal beause a rich politician wants to put money in his friends' pockets rather than to education and food and living for the poor , racism, other such things ..
When I was in ug me and the other black physics students would talk about how we didn't have physics classes in our high schools meanwhile some of our white peers were doing robotics teams and science olympiads and sometimes straight up research in high school and then we go to college and all get thrown in the same intro course and we get scoffed at for not being at the same level
