Wrote two random posts before I got around to doing this, it must have slipped my mind! Super excited by the concept of this site, hard to say what a relief it is to stare at a social media page that isn't covered in advertisements and promoted posts.

I'm hoping to primarily write and read about design, music (as a listener and creator), and film. I have a background semi-professionally writing about music, have written previously about games on my own time, and am a bit too thorough with my Letterboxd usage. Regarding that music production, I'm a bassist first and foremost, but I also play guitar and am a gleeful amateur with synthesizers.

My name is Alix (some people also call me Solar or Sol).

What I'll probably post about here are my interests, which are writing, TV, writing for TV, writing about TV, Warrior Cats, other books, and podcasts. I have a couple podcasts, the current ongoing ones being ones where I talk about TV (shocking), specifically MTV's Faking It and Riverdale. Oh, I'm also kind of a #gamer 🤪

In general I do refuse to force any account I have to stick to a theme, so be ready for anything on my page and don't expect me to be consistent. This is Cohost, though, so I doubt people expected that anyways.

I'm really most excited to post some TV criticism here, though, because I've been saying I'll do that forever and this website DID just kick my ass into doing it ALREADY!!

Hello! My name is Steven, and I have finally been allowed to Post.

In brief and without doxxing myself, I am a public employee with the State of Minnesota, and I am a non-partisan in a professional capacity. Which means I try pretty hard not to post about politics in case it jeopardizes my job, which I really like! But I like politics quite a lot, spend a great deal of time reading about current events, and I’m actually starting law school in a few weeks to advance my career!

Aside from that, I’m just a big nerd. Movies, TV, video games, comics, chunky fantasy novels, obviously political philosophy, podcasts, all sorts of stuff. Without telling my whole life story, it’s these things that got me where I am today.

Mainly, I hope to post infrequent media criticism. It keeps me sharp to think about what I’m watching and reading and playing. It’s definitely just a hobby for me, I’m not interested in selling my writing (I’ve done that before, not cut out for it), and I’m also not too sure my takes are that interesting anyway. It’s mostly for me, and anyone who stumbles across it.

Lately I’ve been watching just an enormous amount of Star Trek: The Next Generation. I might actually bring my S1-S3 reviews over here since this is an easier place to post than Serializd, the app I’ve been using to roughly log my TV watching. I’m taking a break from Trek atm though, lots of other smaller shows I want to watch before school starts.
