Terra Invicta got an update. Which made the AI better at strategy and tactics. Now, should I have been building a massive fleet to deal with the alien horde that was just content hanging out near an asteroid? Yes, but since they were hanging out instead of attacking earth, I thought I had time. Well, now I don't have time. And my defense fleet is not ready to deal with this shit.

Yeah, I think this is where I end this playthrough. There's a 60k strength alien fleet that can send 5-10k detachments to earth in like a month. I could build a 1k fleet in a month (and only made of small screening ships) to mount a token defense for the next attack. Except the previous attack destroyed all my shipyards. And also, my iron production can't keep up with constant rebuilding of ships and stations. I'm sure a comback is mathematically possible. But do I want to put in another 100 hours for a maybe? Not really, no. I might start a new campaign, and play on the double speed mode. But maybe that one's also later.
