I love you, cohost. I love all the people here. I have felt more welcomed and cared for and befriended more funky critters who I love and who love me here than any other social media site combined. Thankfully, I have alternate methods of contacting most, if not all, of them. Partings are always difficult. I will dearly miss this site. It many ways, it reminds me of Blaseball. A silly little thing that flared and burned bright and was a beacon of community and hope that also had to die an unfortunate death to the whims of capital. And while that can be seen as depressing - and it is, capitalism sucks, partings suck, losing a place that means the world to you sucks - I think it is also reflective of our nature, and the power of the internet. Two times might just be coincidence, certainly. But the fact it's happened two times in such a notable way? That to me means it's doable, neither was a one-off fluke of coincidence that such a strong community can be formed on a silly little site (slash discord server). It can and will happen again, one day. And hopefully, one day it will stick. With our own hands and paws and other such appendages, we build the future. So let's make it an even better one. Let us fight tooth and nail for it. To carve our spaces into the bloated corpse of capitalistic hell and the petty god-kings who believe they have all the power, to make our own worlds, to come together once more when a space like this comes along again when it inevitably does, and to maintain the flames in our smaller, more personal corners.
