I'm vaguely aware there was drama between cohost and pillowfort at some point, and I understand if you were caught up in that and don't want to deal with it.

but, at least to my eyes, it seems like the closest thing in existence to cohost right now. it's a no-algorithm site that allows NSFW and has tumblr-style long posts with formatting, private follower/ing lists, the ability to turn off numbers with a widely-recommended plugin, and a strong commenting system and culture.

unfortunately, it lacks reblog additions and html/css support, and asks aren't implemented yet, but most elements are in place. it does strike me as somewhat more fandom-centric than cohost, but there are other communities on there too.
