Alright, I feel like I've been beating my head against a wall all morning to this question and I'm hoping someone here will be able to answer it: How do I add a gif on top of a background png image and export the whole thing? Because I can't do it well in Vegas Pro, can't do it with any of the Affinity products apparently, can't seem to get Aseprite to get things to look how I'd like them to. I feel like it shouldn't be this hard to just drop a gif on top of a static background, resize it, and export everything.
So, after messing around for a bit I got it:
- Imported the Gif I had already and wanted to use as part of the button into Aseprite
- Converted the canvas so that it was the same ratio as 88x31, but starting with the full height of the gif I was using. So the gif I had is 100x100, meaning the width I needed was 283.87.
- Changed sprite size so it was 88x31 (Sprite -> Sprite size)
- Imported the background I created in Affinity Photo and saved as a png. Had to open it in a new tab in Aseprite, change the color mode in the original to "RGB" (Sprite -> Color mode -> RGB), then copy the layer from the new tab into the original tab
- Set the background as the background layer (right click on it, Convert to -> Background layer)
- Copy the circle in the background layer for frame 1 (or wherever you imported it to), and copy it to all the other frames by clicking on the circle and pressing ctrl v
And finally, here is my button! Hoping to make another one shortly
