Summerbeam is a laid-back pony who values her space and free time, taking things one day at a time. She lives in a small coastal town on the west side of Equestria, and when she's not wandering off somewhere she might spend an afternoon sniffing through the thrift stores for curios.
She got turned into an alicorn after messing with a magic item and is so far more interested in using her newfound magic/flight for personal convenience rather than being responsible about it (though she probably wouldn't consider herself irresponsible either).
