Uhh,,, sleeby
The winters on their planet are very dark and harsh, so the nmu hibernate through most of it.
An entire extended family will all pack into one room of one house for hibernation. Young children and their parents are kept closer to the center. The house is allowed to get cold since warm temperatures would prematurely end the hibernation.
When hibernating the their metabolic rate drops and their body temperature drops (but still stays well above freezing). They don't eat anything during this period.
If they're looking after a baby they will likely go through a partial hibernation. Both the parent and child will wake up every day. They're body temperature only lowers by a few degrees and they may eat a little bit in this time.
