i was messing around with visual studio the past few days and remembered that i wrote a Nightwave Plaza client for Windows. i opened it up to get some inspiration and ended up fixing it to work in the year of luigi 2023 (it turns out that basically all the apis had changed since i last worked on it in 2019)
while i was refactoring Nightwave.NET for Workgroups, one of the api changes that occurred since i last touched the code was that Nightwave Plaza removed the "dislike" function from their voting stuff. i didn't think much of it while i was actually updating the code, but it's been a little while since, and every time i open Nightwave.NET for Workgroups and listen to nightwave plaza, invariably there's one song that comes on that i just really dislike.
in the Before Times (i wrote this software originally in my spare time working at NCR before covid hit), i'd just hit dislike and continue listening to the next song, but not having a dislike button at all seems to have an impact on me: i now tend to just close the application entirely and just not listen at all. that kinda sucks.
