is that we get a non-corporation-controlled distro that acts essentially as a target for "console games" style stuff -- because it's not to be used As Linux if you want support, you can get away with only updating things for security stuff for every version freeze, making it basically a console in terms of everything but hardware, which these days you can abstract anyway. minimum hardware requirements would still need to be a thing, but at least they'll be consistent unlike they currently are for mac/win/lin.
windows is, outside of fleet machines, mainly installed for playing games and using Word+Excel, and everything else is available elsewhere.
and Word and Excel are already available as a webapp.
