assortment of musings i've had over the past few days that i want to write somewhere public

  • you can't put everyone in the same third place
  • content federation doesn't solve much
    • you now have a third place that can erect arbitrary walls and divisions at will
    • identity federation could be nice, however - how to achieve that is left as an exercise to the reader
  • it's easier to maintain social cohesion in smaller groups
    • smaller groups take less resources to maintain
