OOH THIS IS INTERESTIN... especially cuz i got a med-fantasy world where a lot of people DO have powers, so in a way, this would be envisioning them as either... having a different subset of powers, and/or an extraordinarily heightened level of their powers
actually a bit hard to say, i think most characters who would want that kind of power to abuse it, have already tried to get it. tho ironically i think my most villainous character is Ave Imola III, who was not from my main setting and has no access to magic
he's already politically a total villain in his world, giving him extraordinary power with it would make him like... a top-tier threat, lmfao
i think the only other two who would have the capacity to be genuinely evil would be Stagea and Haibren, and the other two who might go haywire for like an arc of a comic but get very aptly defeated would be Irokae and Pepper lmfao
Just wanted to share a sketch vs final. I make a seven page comic just to practice drawing trees, rain, and applying half tones in a way I liked. I got really excited to print this, but the results were humbling. I have yet to solve the moire issue and, as it was just a test, I might never come back to it.
I started out wanting to make a new icon that had The Monitor, which I usually use to represent myself these days, and Bun-E03, as a representative of my art, upstaging things as usual. But it got me thinking.
For a long, long time, I avoided having a representation of myself interact with my characters because... it was taboo? weird? cringe? fuck if I know, taking 3 minutes to interrogate it earlier I couldn't think of a clear reason why.
But the characters I create are just as much a part of me as anything else. Bun-E03 was designed to be a representation of my art, but that art is me, you know? Just like The Monitor, a busted-up machine that keeps on kicking, is me. It's me all the way down, baby.
This started out as a quick little idea for an icon, but I wanna expand on it, take my time with it, make it something that I can be proud of.
(And also I've been featuring The Monitor and Bun-E03 on streams together since late 2022 so that seal was already broken anyways)
