Tbh, making a sona or a self insert or some sort of cool OC that is supposed to be Literally You™️ is good. Hell, I'd even argue that it's healthy. You are under no obligation to hold back and make them bland or unimportant. Give them cool clothes and badass powers. Draw them hanging out with and/or being romantically involved with other characters that you like, be they pre-existing or entirely original. Create things that are primarily for making you happy. It's good for you.
At worst, making self insert OCs is harmless fun. At best, I've heard people say that doing this has actually really helped them in some way.
I'm being 100% serious when I say that this stuff has helped a lot of people feel more comfortable or confident in their own skin. It has given people a safe space to explore and come to terms with their sexuality and/or gender identity. It has helped people learn how to express their personal desires without shame after being raised in a conservative or otherwise repressive environment. It has given people the strength to keep going in difficult situations, and it has provided many with an alternative way to unpack and process their trauma.
So yeah, go forth and make yourself a guy that is Literally You™️TODAY! Make a fursona. Turn yourself into a robot girl or a cat boy. Put yourself in your favorite show or video game. It is fun, it is freeing, it can be helpful, and not even the government can keep you from doing it :)
They speak for themselves I think, idk
