>w<! i really appreciate that wadda hell, kissing you, , i'm always really sort of relieved when anyone likes pnicto because it's a pretty out-there fursona animal pick! not a lot of salamanders in The Fandom, and they show up on that uncharismatic fauna blog sometimes... hard to find artists for it too.

Pnicto is on the oc list despite being my fursona because it started as an oc, and it does have lore around its creaturehood, even if its self is just supposed to be my own. this makes it a little difficult because anything i say about its personality & thoughts is probably true of me too and that's. personal... but here goes! three things since you invited it :3c

• from the perspective of those who know it today, it just climbed out of a hole in the mountains one day, already metamorphosed into adulthood. it trades for what it needs, often offering its unique secretions & shed skins for use in potion-brewing. it likes to stay in damp basements and swampy huts, and it usually trusts other mountain animals.

• it's not a kobold but it's flattered when it gets called one, it'd let you, and it fits right in with them. it's not a lizard either and doesn't like being mistaken for one as much; it likes wet environments and never dry ones. it's not a mythological salamander, and has no special association with fire. it is a cryptid but only to humankind. never trust human

• Pnicto is the last name! its full given name is "Ambystoma pnicto", which is a mock species name given to its set of genetic alterations. some scientists did give it first names starting with A, notably Astra and Alyssa, but it rejected these and most notions of gender with them. it does like wearing dresses & ribbons... 💝💕
