My BG3 Tav (Their name is vignette!) has evolved so far beyond the game. I knew it would happen because it's the D&D game and I am allergic to Self Insert/Avatar Gameplay and I always have to insert some kind of character that I play as no matter how silent or empty the protagonist is. And in BG3 that's kind of the point. But I also can't just. Make One Character. It's always gotta be a whole thing.
I make one guy and they grow a new guy who's their friend or enemy or just Some Fucko they meet because I thought the interaction would be funny.
So now here I am with Vignette, my weird little teifling who is the holy idol of a Hastur cult run by an Ex-sunite Paladin Oathbreaker (who disagrees with that description of himself by the way) Who is basically the equivalent of a hyper sheltered homeschool kid except the homeschooling was done by a hedonist cult who thinks They are a gift from Hastur and they never take the baldarian dialogue options. Yes it is true that they are from Baldur's gate but they don't know anything about baldur's gate! Why would they! They're Scary half drow paladin shepard/attendant does everything for them! They don't have to do anything but be pretty and decadent.
And during the course of the events of baldur's gate instead of having any kind of self actualization arc where they learn "maybe being part of an outer world hedonist cult is bad" all they learn is "My will and desires are more important then that of gods." and their desires are for their Flock (The other companions) to be happy and healthy and get everything they want. This of course makes their friends also more important then All Gods. (except hastur. Hastur is good. Everyone else ain't shit tho.)
They romances Astarion 100% exclusively because Astarion is the only one who tells the Dark Urge to "be themselves and no body should tell them not to be." And Vignette really liked that cause everyone else making them feel bad about themselves as a Dark Urge.
All of this because I saw "Great old ones Warlock" and was like. "oh well I have no choice." when I opened the game 100% prepared to go all in on Bard.
This has been me rambling about my dumb little guy who steals every single stuffed animal they see on any map. They currently have 12 teddy bears and 2 owl bear plushies. One of the teddy bears has a pocket that holds a single Greater Healing Potion. Why? because that's where the potion goes.
