#original character

also: #original characters, #oc, #ocs

First off, one of my favorite characters, Roc. When I made him I was exploring a lot of themes of human vs. animal nature- the world of Mutualism is populated by beasts, despite their human faces. Humans themselves are extinct, having been wiped out in war hundreds of years ago.

The Cult of Humanity, however, sees power in ancient human ways. Roc was trained from birth to model the proper human lifestyle, up until... Well, he doesn't really remember what happened, only that one day he could no longer bear standing upright, keeping his wings folded; that he woke in the Arctic with bloodstained teeth. This, however, seemed to be a blessing in disguise. For the very island he landed on seemed populated by the humans he had heard about: creatures with naturally upright postures, smooth limbs, congregated in massive colonies. Maybe if he can just talk with one, he can start answering some old questions...

Love comes in many forms on Kendesai.

The love for your closest family is a fairly obvious one. The kind of love a parent feels towards their children and the wonder they feel having gotten to meet them. The kind that a child feels towards the person who raised them with nothing but the utmost respect and care.

The love for your dearest friends is another. The kind of love one feels for people that they never expected to have so much in common with. The kind that someone feels towards people that opened up their entire world in one chance meeting.

The love for your truest partners is no stranger either. The kind of love one feels for people they want to share a life with. The kind that allows lovers to adore every detail of their spouse with the same reverence they had the first day they truly clicked with one another.

There is one more however, that the people treasure; A love for your most-respected rivals. The kind of love one feels for someone that helps them hone eachother's skills. The kind that motivates them to improve for the sake of themselves and those around them.

All four of these loves are treasured, and while they can be corrupted or misconstrued like many things, the key to their stability is mutual understanding and an earnest demeanor.

This write-up is admittedly an excuse to say it is indeed considered gay to lock blades and love doing it with specific people in this setting.

Welcome to my OC/art blog. While this is not necessarily a NSFW blog, my work is meant for an 18+ audience. Please see under the read more for info.

#plaguewalker - Prion, a wizard whose powers revolve around disease, and Tunic, a demon trapped in fabric, travel across a plague-torn land in order to find a way to restore it.

#paravirus - Tae, an average college student, is infected by the sentient man-made parasite Hirudi.

#mutualism - Roc, a disgraced harpy eagle prince, journeys across several islands to answer his question: what is humanity?

#midnight arcade - A collection of entities living within an arcade, with each entity embodying an aspect of the arcade experience.

And several other individuals, who will have their own tags eventually.

Since childhood I have been obsessed with the inner body, biology, organs, the process of eating, disease, parasites, etc. It is a facet of my autistic special interest. You will find this reflected in my work no doubt. Much of my work is also “fetish adjacent”- with an interest in the inner body comes terms like vore and endosoma. I would not say this is an outright fetish blog but there may be "fetish-like" work featured, and it will not always be clear whether or not something is truly “fetish”. There are also other aspects that make my work 18+, so please keep this in mind. I will tag things to the best of my ability.

I tried very hard to separate the fetish from the story, or to decide what to categorize things as, and I believe the lines are too blurry. To kill the fetish is to kill the story. To me, autistic special interest and a fetish are the same feeling, under different names. There is a substantial amount of people who interact with their fetish in a SFW way, and those who interact with their special interest in an NSFW way. In the past my work has been accused of being fetish art, both when it wasn’t intended as such, and when it was intended as such and was clearly labeled. I put this paragraph here in hopes that people with similar feelings will see it, and understand the freedom of embracing their strange obsessions.
