long-suffering fellow doctor: "Lucent, please stop exerting yourself while you're still healing, you don't want to heck up your organs"
Lucent: "It's fine, they can repair themselves if I do"
fellow doctor: "That's not how organs work"
Lucent: "Well, it's how my organs work"

SGE!Lucent giving a lecture on anatomy, gesturing maybe a little too enthusiastically with a scalpel
I mentioned this a while back on a sideblog but it's very important to me that SGE!Lucent has this specific kind of "hot doctor" energy. not the kind that comes from skimpy clothing or suggestive poses, but the kind that comes from being competent and confident and in charge, and also being just a little unhinged
the actual reason I have not made Lucent a WoL is that I would have to completely rewrite the MSQ to compensate for How He Is and while that sounds like a neat project it is also one that is totally beyond me at the moment
the thing is that Naberius and Alaude (in the RDM continuity) and Savoulain (in the SGE continuity) are capable of acting as Lucent's impulse control in a way the Scions wouldn't be able to, at least not for a while
namely:
- Lucent's "canon" pals are proactive about keeping Lucent out of situations where he is tempted to use violence on another person, along with finding safer outlets for his impulsiveness (monster hunting, less-dubious medical science, etc)
- meanwhile the Scions are aiming the WoL directly into the heart of a lot of Fraught Societal Situations and pulling the trigger over and over
- Lucent's "canon" pals know him as an individual very, very well and thus can input the Konami code that gets Lucent to stop smashing a fucker's already-smashed face in and go do something else. I personally don't feel like the Scions really bond with the WoL beyond "this cool mercenary we recruited" until like... Heavensward at the earliest? especially Alphinaud
also, while Lucent is strong, he's not WoL-level strong and does have plenty of fights he would lose. if you gave him the WoL's strength it would be that much harder for him to not see violence as the solution
to convince Lucent to not get into a fistfight with the entire Conjurer's Guild for denying healthcare to someone Because The Elementals Said So, you have to succeed a roll that's extremely difficult without the "Lucent trusts you" modifier, and pick the correct dialogue options to remind Lucent that He Is A Healthcare Provider Too and that helping the person being denied healthcare is going to do more good in this situation than being dogpiled by all of Gridania's cops
(but let's face it, the Conjurer's Guild deserves it)
