OniLink
@OniLink asked:

🎄for SGE Lucent, Sav, and from FL the Doctor

From the ask game: what is your oc's favorite holiday?

Lucent is a big fan of All Saint's Wake! Back in Sharlayan, the clinic he volunteered at would throw a party for the younger patients every year, and he would put together a different noulith-incorporating costume every time. Ask him about his "sagacious tonberry" costume

Sav kind of looks upon all present-day holidays (particularly any involving the Twelve) with a mix of bemused amusement and nostalgia. I think he finds it hard to be in the festivities unless he's with someone - too many memories, otherwise. Too easy to drift off into the past. If You Know His Deal, he's more than glad to tell you about how the various holidays have changed over time, the traditions that survived across each era, and so forth.

I don't know if the doctor like... cares about holidays, really... he is Aware of them but they hold little personal significance for him beyond sometimes doing stuff with his friends that are kind of holiday flavored. The exception is Whitsun, and his attention is more on the eggs themselves than the festivities, per se

I wanna explore all of this through writing, not just a list of words + some of these are subject to change as always, but when it comes to mapping the crew's orientations to current-day lingo, it looks something like this:

  • the doctor: kinky sex-positive aroace
  • Rafael: pan(romantic/sexual) and polyamorous
  • Wren: ace, sex-repulsed, and whatever you call "I fell in love Once and hated it and am glad it hasn't happened again"
  • Felix: aro, ace of the "libido without attraction" flavor
  • Nathaniel: quoi(romantic/sexual)
  • Selcouth (formerly Nova): aroace and conflicted about it
  • Nadia: lesbian and happily married

similarly:

  • the doctor: full of every kind of love except romantic
  • Rafael: has romantic feelings towards many of his friends and is perfectly fine with the fact that they don't return his feelings
  • Wren: compares romantic attraction to being poisoned
  • Felix: Cannot Comprehend Romance, considers it illogical and baffling
  • Nathaniel: has no idea what his relationship with the doctor is, but it makes him happy so who cares about labels
  • Selcouth: from a culture where romance is strictly forbidden. they are not sure if they would be able to realize they're having A Romantic Feeling
  • Nadia: the relationship consists of her fighting monsters on the sea and descending to the bottom of it every so often to sing about her adventures to her wife who lives there

I did not Mean to make everyone in this group weird (affectionate) about romance in a setting where romance is a Big Deal but I'm having a great time with it

I don't TTRPG and am in fact pretty badly suited for it as a control freak with optimization brainrot BUT

if I had to pick dice for the good doctor, I'd probably combine this violant-y set

and this LoN-ish set

(I really especially like that the latter set is actually softer than the first)
