I wanna explore all of this through writing, not just a list of words + some of these are subject to change as always, but when it comes to mapping the crew's orientations to current-day lingo, it looks something like this:
- the doctor: kinky sex-positive aroace
- Rafael: pan(romantic/sexual) and polyamorous
- Wren: ace, sex-repulsed, and whatever you call "I fell in love Once and hated it and am glad it hasn't happened again"
- Felix: aro, ace of the "libido without attraction" flavor
- Nathaniel: quoi(romantic/sexual)
- Selcouth (formerly Nova): aroace and conflicted about it
- Nadia: lesbian and happily married
similarly:
- the doctor: full of every kind of love except romantic
- Rafael: has romantic feelings towards many of his friends and is perfectly fine with the fact that they don't return his feelings
- Wren: compares romantic attraction to being poisoned
- Felix: Cannot Comprehend Romance, considers it illogical and baffling
- Nathaniel: has no idea what his relationship with the doctor is, but it makes him happy so who cares about labels
- Selcouth: from a culture where romance is strictly forbidden. they are not sure if they would be able to realize they're having A Romantic Feeling
- Nadia: the relationship consists of her fighting monsters on the sea and descending to the bottom of it every so often to sing about her adventures to her wife who lives there
I did not Mean to make everyone in this group weird (affectionate) about romance in a setting where romance is a Big Deal but I'm having a great time with it
